ISO StandardisationAs computer prepress methods guaranteeing high repeatability of offset prepress processes evolved, standardisation has become particularly important. Therefore, the ISO 12647 standard has been developed; it sets out criteria for control of processes related to offset printing. The prepress department in the Modena printing house has introduced this standard and closely supervises its application. It involves the following issues: • calibration of the printing form preparation path (CTP imagesetter, plate developer) • calibration of print colour control (digital proofing) • purchase of offset dyes with verified spectrum specification from approved suppliers • application of high-quality offset plates Calibration is performed regularly using our own measuring devices. In practice, we print projects separated with the use of colour profiles: FOGRA27, FOGRA39 and ISO Euroscale (very popular profiles - included in Adobe software) and proofed in accordance with ISO 12647-2 with the maximum accuracy of colour representation. Should you have any doubts, please contact the CTP department. |
